Japan Crushed Stone Association Visits the Kimitsu Branch and Warehouse
Our company have a single-story warehouse with a total area of 4,556 m2 in the Kimitsu district of the East Japan Works of Nippon Steel Corporation, where we store ferroalloys and other steelmaking materials and deliver them to the various plants within the works. The use of abrasion-resistant steel plates made in Japan called ABREX® for dump truck boxes and loader buckets reduces the thickness of the plates compared to ordinary steel plates, resulting in lighter bodies and improved loading efficiency. In addition to this, the maintenance-free operation improves the operation rate and greatly contributes to improving the profitability of the company, since the material wears out only at a rate of about 1 mm over 10 years.
On Wednesday, October 22, a group of 27 people from member companies of the Japan Crushed Stone Association, led by Nippon Steel Corporation and Komatsu Customer Support Japan Ltd., visited our Kimitsu Branch and Warehouse to see our UD off-road dump truck and Komatsu WA470 loader, both of which are equipped with ABREX®, abrasion-resistant steel plates made in Japan.
Members of the Japan Crushed Stone Association inspected dump trucks and loaders while engaging in a lively question-and-answer session on the merits and performance of ABREX®, which only experts can provide. We hope that this visit will help the Japan Crushed Stone Association to adopt ABREX® for their vehicles and equipment.
